Sebastien Gouin
Sebastien Gouin is intellectual property and venture capital technical manager at Vestergaard Frandsen, working out of headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, but spends much of his time traveling to evaluate new innovative technologies being fostered in labs, startups, and university incubators across the world. He manages all of the technology acquisitions for Vestergaard Frandsen, a company committed to developing health tools for the bottom of the pyramid, across four business units: Public Health, Climate, Food Security, and Water. More than half a billion people have benefited directly from the innovations that have stemmed from Vestergaard Frandsen’s laboratories in Switzerland, Ghana, and Vietnam. Like all scientists at Vestergaard Frandsen, he is equally at ease in a lab coat as he is caked in mud and working on the front lines of one of Vestergaard Frandsen’s public health programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
Before joining Vestergaard Frandsen, Gouin worked for various leading biotech and chemistry companies in Europe and North America in roles as various as leading R&D teams in food sciences, researching flight patterns of insects for NASA, and coordinating production and supply chains while steering a multimillion-dollar product portfolio from ideation to market. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Montreal.
