Roy Arezzo

Science Teacher
Roy Arezzo, a native of Brooklyn, is a veteran NYC science teacher who has served as a department leader/curriculum developer in a variety of secondary education settings. He has a B.S. in biology from Marist College and received his Master in Environmental Science Education through CUNY. He is the recipient of several fellowships and teaching awards including the 2010 Sloan Award for Excellence in Teaching Science. He worked on the proposal for Harbor School and is the founding science teacher. Arezzo has developed courses in biology, AP environmental science, research and marine science, and is now supervising the Aquaculture program as a CTE instructor. Arezzo is involved in several community projects related to bicycle advocacy, boating, composting, and community gardens. Most summers, Arezzo volunteers to work on science research projects. When he is not in the field, on his bike or on the water he likes to see live music.
