Richard Panek
A Guggenheim Fellow in Science Writing, Richard Panek received the American Institute of Physics Science Communication Award in 2012 for his most recent book, The 4% Universe: Dark Matter, Dark Energy, and the Race to Discover the Rest of Reality, the inside story of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics. His books, which also include The Invisible Century: Einstein, Freud, and the Search for Hidden Universes and Seeing and Believing: How the Telescope Opened Our Eyes and Minds to the Universe, have been translated into 16 languages. His next book will be The Trouble With Gravity: Solving the Mystery Beneath Our Feet, to be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in Spring 2019. He teaches in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University–a course he created,”Science as Narrative”–and in the MFA Writing program at Goddard College.
