Peter Parnell
Peter Parnell’s most recent play Dada Woof Papa Hot was produced by the Lincoln Center Theater Company in the Fall of 2015. He wrote the new books for Disney Theatrical’s production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (music and lyrics Menken-Schwartz), and the Broadway revival of Lerner and Lane’s On a Clear Day You Can See Forever starring Harry Connick, Jr. and Jessie Mueller. His other plays include Trumpery (Atlantic Theatre Company), QED starring Alan Alda (Mark Taper Forum, Lincoln Center Theater — Broadway), and a two-part stage adaptation of John Irving’s The Cider House Rules (American Theatre Critics Association Award). For television, Parnell was a writer-co-producer for The West Wing (two Emmy Award® citations), and writer-producer for a number of others, including the current CBS-TV series Braindead. His award-winning children’s book And Tango Makes Three, co-authored with Justin Richardson, was just published by Simon & Schuster in a ten-anniversary edition. Parnell proudly serves as Vice-President of The Dramatists Guild.
