Monica Dunford
Monica Dunford is an experimental high-energy particle physicist working on the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. She is currently at the Heidelberg University in Germany. Professor Dunford’s research focuses on the study of the tiniest of particles and also the search for new particles such as that elusive particle that could explain the ‘dark matter’ in our universe. Her day-to-day ranges from combing through petabytes of data in search of old and new particles to crawling in small, dusty places connecting thousands of kilometers of cables.
