Mariangela Lisanti

Physicist

Mariangela Lisanti is an associate professor of physics at Princeton University whose research focuses on the nature of dark matter. She has tested ideas about dark matter using data from a wide range of experimental and observational probes. Currently, she is focusing on developing novel experimental strategies for searches of light dark matter, analyzing high-energy gamma-ray data for signatures of dark matter annihilation, and characterizing the dark matter halo with data from the Gaia space observatory. Lisanti graduated with a B.A. from Harvard in 2005 and received her PhD from Stanford in 2010. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science in 2013 and has been on the physics faculty at Princeton since then. In recent years, Lisanti received the Sloan Research Fellowship, the Cottrell Scholar Award, and was a regional finalist for the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists.
