Lynn Trahey
Lynn Trahey is a materials scientist in the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR) Energy Innovation Hub where she leads scientific integration efforts as the Research Integration Officer. A staff scientist at Argonne National Laboratory since 2010, her research focuses on electrodeposition, anodization, and operando characterization of materials and interfaces for advanced secondary batteries. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007, where she studied the fabrication and device application of nanostructured thermoelectric materials under the NASA Graduate Student Research Program. She received the 2012 Northwestern University – Argonne Early Career Investigator Award for Energy Research for her work on artificial solid electrolyte interphases for lithium-ion batteries. Dr. Trahey is also passionate about conducting and improving a new paradigm for team science that connects basic, fundamental chemistry and physics with the needs of systems that work for society and the environment.
