John Krasting
Dr. John Krasting is a climate scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (NOAA-GFDL) located in Princeton, NJ. Dr. Krasting earned his doctorate in atmospheric science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. His research focuses on global climate change, and he studies carbon-cycle climate interactions and variability. He also participated in developing and using NOAA-GFDL’s first Earth System Models that couple the climate and carbon cycle for projections of changes. Prior to working at NOAA-GFDL, Dr. Krasting was a meteorologist for WTXF-TV in Philadelphia and WWOR/WNYW-TV in New York City. Dr. Krasting was awarded the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist distinction and was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award in 2009.
