Jennifer Rosati
Dr. Jennifer Rosati is a forensic entomologist and assistant professor in the Department of Sciences at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. As a forensic entomologist, she uses insect development and behavior to help with post-mortem interval (PMI) estimations or time since death, especially in cases where the time of death exceeds 72 hours and normal pathological methods are no longer reliable. Her research interests are focused on improving the current understanding underlying the use of forensically related insect species, primarily flies, beetles and moths. Rosati’s lab focuses on the role of biotic and abiotic factors affecting insect developmental rates and behavior. She is an avid collector of insects and maintains the Forensic Entomology Insect Collection at John Jay College. She has been involved in casework in Canada and in the New York State Region.
