Isabel Pedersen
Dr. Isabel Pedersen is Canada Research Chair in Digital Life, Media and Culture and an associate professor at Ontario Tech University. She founded Decimal Lab, a digital culture and media lab that concentrates on the social implications of emerging technology. She addresses the cultural, rhetorical, ethical and political challenges posed by technocultural change. She explores how the adoption of platforms such as brain interfaces will affect how people communicate, interact, work and engage with culture. She contextualizes these changes within global technology shifts including the rise of Artificial Intelligence. In 2014, Dr. Pedersen was inducted into the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. She is the author of Ready to Wear: A Rhetoric of Wearable Computers and Reality-Shifting Media.
