Eva Silverstein
MacArthur Fellow
Eva Silverstein is a professor of physics at Stanford whose research focuses on cosmology and related areas of gravitation and quantum field theory. A number of her contributions connect the mathematical structure of string theory to predictions for cosmological observables, leading to broader lessons in primordial cosmology. Recently she has branched out to develop physics-based algorithms for optimization and sampling, with scientific and machine learning applications. She was a Sloan Fellow and a MacArthur Fellow and is currently a Simons Investigator, a fellow of the American Physics Society, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
