Elissa Epel

Elissa Epel is a Professor, as well as Vice Chair, of the Department of Psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, and a past President of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research. She is also co-author, along with Nobel prize winner Elizabeth Blackburn, of a best-selling book called “The Telomere Effect,” which examines how a portion of our chromosomes called “telomeres” impacts aging, and of “The Stress Prescription: 7 Days to More Joy and Ease.”
