Danielle Vellucci
Danielle Vellucci is a clinical assistant professor of Chemistry at New York University. She studied chemistry at Boston College and earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California, Irvine. Her research focused on using chemical cross-linkers to study the proteasome (the garbage disposal for proteins). After her postdoctoral studies in medicinal chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute, Vellucci returned east to Connecticut College as a lecturer in chemistry and has since joined the teaching faculty at NYU. She particularly enjoys spending time with enthusiastic and curious undergraduates in the organic laboratory. Vellucci has shared her passion for science education as an educational outreach advocate throughout her career.
