Andrea Hanson
Andrea Hanson joins us from NASA Johnson Space Center, where she works in the Exercise, Physiology and Countermeasures Laboratory. She supports and conducts research centered on using exercise and fitness to keep astronauts strong and healthy while living aboard the space station. As a scientist, she is interested in optimizing countermeasures to maintain bone and muscle strength. As an engineer, she is interested in developing and using small portable technologies that will track and measure human performance in remote environments. Her research has included development of hardware to monitor how daily activities contribute to maintenance of bone and joint health. Dr. Hanson holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
