Biochemist’s Apprentice

Saturday, June 4, 2016
10:00 am - 11:30 am

There’s a fine line between potentially fatal poisons and life-saving medicines—and biochemist Mandë Holford walks it every day. Discover just what separates the harmful from the helpful by examining snails under a microscope, decoding DNA to uncover its healing properties, and even dissecting a squid to compare its black, inky venom to that of a snail.

Note: This is a student-only program for kids in the 6th-8th grade. Parents/Guardians should drop off their children for this one-hour event.

Supported by the Bezos Family Foundation.
