Michael Winther
Michael Winther has appeared on Broadway in 33 Variations, Mamma Mia, 1776, Artist Descending a Staircase, The Crucible, and Damn Yankees. His recent credits include “Bruce standby” Fun Home National Tour, “Albert Einstein” in physicist Brian Greene’s Light Falls in New York and Princeton, Australia. Winther collaborated with Julianne Wick Davis, Dan Collins, and Sally Wilfert on the two-person musical, When We Met (O’Neill, Cap 21); Tectonic’s Laramie Project Cycle (BAM/Harvey); Fred Hersch and Herschel Garfein’s My Coma Dreams (NYC, Berlin, San Francisco); Merrily We Roll Along (City Center Encores!). Regional credits include Ahmanson/CTG, Old Globe, Goodspeed, La Jolla, Guthrie, Berkeley Rep, Yale Rep, McCarter, Theatreworks/Palo Alto, Weston, George Street, Ford’s, O’Neill Center, Sundance Lab, NYS&F, Perseverance. He has Drama Desk and Drama League nominations for solo performance in Songs From An Unmade Bed at NYTW. An accomplished singer, his concerts include Lincoln Center’s American Songbook, The White House, Merkin Hall, Town Hall, 54 Below, Joe’s Pub, Birdland, Ars Nova and Rob Kapilow’s What Makes It Great? Winther has numerous TV & Film credit appearances including Blacklist, Boardwalk Empire, Hostages, Leverage, Avengers, Meet Dave, Jumper, and The Break-Up. He is a Williams College Graduate.
