What if the big bang that produced our universe wasn’t the only one? It is possible that universes are being created all the time. Many scientists suspect that this collection of universes—dubbed the multiverse—could answer many of the questions surrounding our origins and the nature of space-time. But the notion of multiple universes is not without its opponents.
