One of the most exciting and intriguing technologies portrayed in Star Trek was the holodeck, a virtual interactive environment where characters could live out scenarios more fantastic as those found in outer space. Computer Scientist Eric Horvitz demonstrates modern technology that allows users to interact with virtual objects and explains why he thinks we’re much closer to creating a Holodeck than one might think.
